Travels Up the West Coast: July 1997
Days Eight and Nine
Day Eight: July 14th, 1997...Monday
After I dealt with more car insurance stuff and went shopping for potato chips and water for my mom (they were brands that don't exist in California), we visited my mom's brother, his wife, and my little cousin, Josh...This is Josh in the window here...He's a little shy, and this was the first time I've ever met him, but I thought this was a great picture...
Later that evening, we visited my cousin Arissa (my dad's niece, but she's working and has been going to school at the University of Washington) and her friend Lars-Erik. We all had fun catching up, but we had to cut the evening short to give us a chance to pack for our 6am start time the next morning...Ugh!...
Day Nine: July 15th, 1997...Tuesday
We finally got on the road at 6:30am, which wasn't too bad, but as we were driving through Seattle, I realized we didn't have any pictures of the Spaceneedle with the city, so Marcus tried videotaping it as we drove by...
Now Seattle looks like a real city, huh? Not a very clear day, though, but were you really surprised? This is Seattle, for goodness' sake!...
I had seen this on the way up, but we were going too fast to stop and take a picture. This time I parked, got out, and took a picture for my friend Louie's sake...
We tried to see if our skid marks were still there on the opposite lanes, but we were moving too fast (but only the speed limit, of course!). We made it all the way back to Roseville by 8:10pm, which was excellent time...we were hoping to be back before midnight, so at least we had some time to relax a bit...
