The Sorting Ceremony

Since I had made my own leather Sorting Hat, all party attendees were Sorted into Houses so we knew what teams we were for House Points for individual games as well as for team activities. I had printed out small House crests on parchment and had them in a deep bowl. The person sat on my Sorting Stool (my antique piano stool), put on the Sorting Hat, closed their eyes, then drew a House crest from the deep bowl. Since we knew there were some guests who were arriving late and some who had to leave early, most people were just Sorted as they arrived instead of an official first-years Ceremony.
