The Lost World: Jurassic Park Promotion
Here's the twelve-foot tall monolith in the main lobby of Century Complex, Sacramento...I made it out of double-wall corrugated cardboard which I painted to simulate black granite and paper that was also painted and arranged and attached to the cardboard as the rocks jutting out from the "carved" stone face. The leaves are cut out of green butcher paper and shaded around the edges with dark green spray paint. I glued wire to the leaves so I could arrange them more naturally on the monolith...
This is a side view of the monolith...For details on the "making of" this promo, click here
A close-up of the Lost World logo I carved out of Styrofoam then painted and placed in the cardboard monolith...
Can you tell how big the monolith is now? That's me standing in front of it to give you a sense of scale...
